Mammad Mustafayev graduated from the Azimzadeh State Art College in Baku (1968) and the Azerbaijan State Institute of Architecture (1975). His sculptures reflect his architectural training in the manner in which he uses materials to create a solid yet unearthly feel. In 2001 he became the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan.
