Natavan Art Gallery & Club

Results of workshop run by Oksana Yushko and Arthur Bondar

A group exhibition by the participants of a documentary photography workshop will open on 28th October at Natavan Gallery. This project was curated by prominent Russian photographers Oksana Yushko and Arthur Bondar within the framework of YARAT’s educational programme. The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Azerbaijan Republic and Bank Technique.

The exhibition will help to summarise a week-long workshop by Oksana Yushko and Artur Bondar who have a history of projects in collaboration with some of the world’s leading news agencies and magazines including Washington Post, Le Monde, Financial Times, The Guradian, Wall Street Journal and Stern.

Icheri Sheher..., Inner City…, a city enclosed within the walls of an ancient fortress and a city hidden in our souls....  This place is filled with colours and sounds that bring our souvenirs to life…. The streets and building resonate with bittersweet memories…. We all possess a city of our own that is dear to us…. We all have this personal attitude to the urban landscape.

Each and every participant of this workshop has tried to discover the city of Baku that doesn’t lend itself so easily to a stranger’s. This city only lives in our imagination.

Participants:

Elmar Mustafazada, Elturan Mammadov, Elkhan Gakhramanli, Zamin Jafarov, Zaur Mirzayev, Mammad Aliyev, Jala Najafova, Mark Rafaelov, Marta Ramazanova, Zamir Suleymanov, Orkhan Azimov, Amina Balaoghlanova, Gulnar Salimova, Ismayıl Huseynov, Sayyara Neymətova, Aysel Amirova, Chinara Balayeva, Gular Abbasova
