FREESTYLE: A DOLL'S HOUSE PERFORMANCE

YARAT Contemporary Art Space Freestyle invites you to the 'A Doll's House' performance by Henrik Ibsen in a new adaptation by Nick Awde organized by Aloff Theatre (UK) and YOG Theatre (Baku)

The event presents in frame YARAT Freestyle project, an open platform for everyone who looks to engage creatively with a broad and diverse audience. 

YARAT FreeStyle presents a program of regular series music performances, live tunes & music experiments. Program is designed to encourage local audience by hosting a series of events highlighting local musicians through various musical genres.

Turkhan Huseynov has just been elected Commissar by the local Communist Party in Azerbaijan and that gives his devoted wife Nurana a new hope. At last, they can put all their troubles behind them.

However, all too soon their delicate happiness is shattered by the arrival of an uninvited visitor. As the lies that Nurana has told, and the risks that she has taken to protect her husband are exposed, they are forced to question just how perfect their marriage really is. Now, it seems, only a miracle will set them free.

A Doll's House is transposed from 19th-century Norway to Baku on the shores of the Caspian Sea, capital of the newly declared Soviet Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan. The date is 1927, a year of momentous change for the city that was the one of the world's first oil boom centre.
