ALEXANDER DZIUBA’S BUTA SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF ACTORS

YARAT Contemporary Art Space is delighted to announce a three-day workshop program of BUTA, presenting Alexander Dzyuba’s school of professional training of actors.

Training includes three blocks of workshops – 'Mirror Block', 'Associative Block' and 'Narrative-Voice Block' – and is a set as combination of exercises, each of them designed to achieve a particular, very certain goal. Plasticity, voice and narration exercises allow to broaden human mind and increase the range of one’s world vision. The impact on two main centres of the performing creativity makes it possible to achieve really incredible results that grow up exponentially! These centres are: attention and imagination. And all of the exercises are aimed at the systematic promotion of these active zones.Eventually, the whole point of the training is to free the body and mind from the excess tension that prevents conscious concentration, and then apply this released energy to increase the actor’s creativity and artistic skills.

Requirements for participation: age from 16 to 45; bring your sportswear, shoes, a bottle of water and (advised) soft kneepads. 

Group includes from 10 to 30 persons. Duration of a seminar is 3 hours including three intervals of 5 minutes each. Participation is available not just for professional actors, but for people of any other artistic profession as well: artists, musicians, dancers etc.

Alexander Dzyuba (1975) – Russian theatre and film actor; starred in such movies and soap TV-shows as 'Masculine Holidays' ('Мужские каникулы'), 'My Fair Childminder' ('Моя прекрасная няня'), 'Soviet Age Park' ('Парк советского периода') etc. In 1993–1997 he was a student of Michail Reznikovic’s studio at the State Theatre Arts Institute after I.K.Karpenko-Kariy (КГИТИ) in Kiev. In 1993–1997 he was an actor of the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre after Lesia Ukrainka (Kiev). In 1997–1999 he was an actor of the Roman Viktiuk Theatre (Moscow). In 1999–2001 he was a teacher at the Actor Studio and a show director of the Estonian State Russian Drama Theatre (Tallinn). In 2001–2006 he was an actor of the Roman Viktiuk Theatre (Moscow). In 2006–2010 he was a filmmaker at such studios as RWS, Young Media, Tandem Films. Since 2010 and up to now he is an actor of the Roman Viktiuk Theatre (Moscow).
