ARTIM ROOMS: TALK BY MURAD AKBARLI

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to workshop on Southern traditions by Murad Akberli within the “Perpendicular Truths” exhibition in ARTIM Project Space.

Murad Akbarli will discuss the lifestyle in South of Azerbaijan during the event. During the workshop, participants will create “the southern world” in their imaginations with canvas and different colors. In addition to experimenting the subjective approach of the artist's works, they will also reveal their own views.

Expressionist paintings by Murad Akbarli can be considered as an integral part of “Green stage” of his oeuvre, which began some time ago. Each painting of the artist is an independent narrative, which seemingly reflects the events happening around the world and in his life. Installation entitled Leyli and Mejnun is a modern allegory of the eponymous poem by Nizami Ganjavi.

Murad Akbarli was born in 1984 in Lankaran, Azerbaijan. He studied on the specialty of Painting at Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts (2006-2010). Murad Akbarli had begun his first work since 2010. His works include a wide range of medias such as painting, graphics and sculptures exploring topics such as human being, death and existence.

ARTIM Rooms Project offers independent rooms for young artists, curators and other creative people. Everyone is welcome to apply to implement their ideas in one or more of the available spaces at ARTIM. The aim is to create a living, independent organism, a lively interdisciplinary platform for discussion and experiment, growing and connecting through creativity.
