YARAT Contemporary Art Space kindly invits you to an artist talk by the Honorary Artist of Azerbaijan Republic Javanshir Guliyev, a composer who is known not only for his beautiful tunes, but also for the new musical style he created based on the synthesis of national music with modern approach to composition.

Javanshir Guliyev worked as a chief sound engineer at the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Azerbaijan for 17 years, and is also the author of the first military anthem of modern independent Azerbaijan.

Javanshir Guliyev was the first composer to include folk instruments saz and zurna in a symphony orchestra and use them as the leading instruments.
