LECTURE: ON THE SPIRITUAL IN ART BY DILARA VAGABOVA

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to the “On the spiritual in art” lecture by art critic and curator Dilara Vagabova in the frame of “METACODE” exhibition currently ongoing at the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries.

Dilara Vagabova – for about 40 years she has been writing articles about foreign artists and current problems of contemporary art. Furthermore, she is the author of monograph “Another Art”, and books dedicated to the creativity of Rasim Babayev, Tofig Javadov, Kamal Ahmedov, Fazil Najafov, Elchin Mammadov.

Also, curator of exhibition projects so as: Archaeological Museum in Stavanger city, Norway, co-curator of contemporary art (2007); IV, V and VI Baku International Biennale of Contemporary Art “Aluminium” (2009, 2012, 2019) and so forth.

During the event regarding specific examples, it will be demonstrated how, over the centuries, a single semantics of images has been developed in different cultures.
