FILM CLUB: SPRING. SUMMER. FALL. WINTER AND SPRING BY KIM KI DUK

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to the screening of the film “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring” within the framework of the ongoing residency exhibition “Experiential time” at ARTIM Project Space.

The film is a 2003 South Korean film directed by Kim Ki-duk.

The film is about the Buddhist pagoda floating in the middle of the lake and its residents: a novice Buddhist monk and his wise old Buddhist priest-teacher. The story is about the 5 stages of Buddhist’s monk life from childhood and old age as the seasons substitute each other. Although the old Buddhist is only one-step behind the highest truth in his mortal shell, he cannot prevent the inevitable events that the young monk will face, just as no one can roll back the seasons.

The film screening takes place in the frame of YARAT residency show Experiential Time exploring the subjective perception of time.
