FILM CLUB: REHEARSAL ORCHESTRA FILM SCREENING

In the ARTIM Project Space within the frame of YARAT Film Club will be shown the film “Rehearsal orchestra” by the Italian director Federico Fellini, shot in a pseudo-documentary manner with a complete lack of on-site filming.

After watching the film, there will be an open discussion on the topic of “Film and Psychoanalysis” with Fariz Samedova, a graduate of the East- European Institute of Psychoanalysis, a teacher of psychoanalysis at the Western Caspian University, a licensed specialist, and member of the board of the European Confederation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapies (Vienna, Austria).

The film follows the rehearsal of an orchestra as the members are interviewed spontaneously by the television crew. The conductor appears the rehearsal begins. The conductor’s fastidiousness and caustic remarks cause dissatisfaction. People who have recently been inspired to say soulful words about music turn into destroyers, maddened rebels.

The film will be screened with the support of the Azerbaijan Union of Cinematographers.
