FREESTYLE: SOLO CELLO – IN MEMORIAM CHARLOTTE MOORMAN

Tradition in France for more than 30 years and from now on presents in 120 countries, the Music Day arrives to Baku! Professional and amateur musicians, and public music-loving invade streets on the occasion of the Music Day, the festive, free event, open to all and to all the musics, without hierarchy of genre and practice.

The violoncellist Julie Läderach seizes these musics, interprets and reinterprets them, creating sound surprises, silence to clamor, from harmony to disharmony, with singular ways to play (percussive, scraped, scrubbed, pinched). Her body is in motion in the place, in the instant, in the fleeting moment. The improvisation is an integral part of the in-situ performance.

Her repertory is inspired by the work of J.S. Bach, Robert Schumann, Sulkhan Tsintsadze, Ernst Reijseger, Fumio Yasuda, Erik Satie, Giacinto Scelsi, Peteris Vasks.
