OVERVIEW

Chinara Majidova (b. 1989, Azerbaijan) graduated from the International law Department of Baku State University in 2010, aside practiced as a writer, painter and video artist she participated in projects such as the YARAT photo masterclass by Guram Tsiba khashvili, 'September 2013, YARAT documentary photography master by “Oksana Yushko and Artur Bondar” October 2013, YARAT Salam Yoursy theater workshop, April-May, 2014, YARAT “Artim” project by Sabina Shixlinskaya, June, 2014 YARAT Robert Cohen Video a master class (Movie capturing, November 2014) and Bedsitter art fair “Vienna, 24 February-29” February 2016). In 2017 in collaboration with Azerbaijani poetess Leyli Salayeva she made a project about verbal harassment of women on the streets resulting in to the video work “Men only, women not be ashamed” in the frame of the exhibition “Boys don’t cry”, ARTIM Project Space, Baku.

In October 2017 as a result of the cooperation with South-Caucasus artists on Juist Island, her work "I am real" was presented in the frame of the travelling exhibition “Take me somewhere nice” in all participated countries. In March 2018 her photo and video works were presented at the group exhibition at YAY Gallery “Think that everything that exists, doesn’t exist”. From 2016 as a photojournalist and writer, she started the cooperation with Ajam media collective. This continued on the “Məhəllə” project which covers the demolishing of historical neighborhood of Baku “Sovietsky". At the same time from 2017, I started and continue to work as freelance photographer and journalist for Chai-Khana Ngo, which is the multi-media platform, on South Caucasus.
