Open call for art critics and researchers!

According to international practices, the sustainability and development of art and culture do not end only with events held in museums and galleries, but also based on their research and critical approach.

Considering that, YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to apply for this announcement to revitalize the public discourse of local arts and culture. Our goal is to support the critical and theoretical projects of the representatives of the new generation operating in these fields and to enable the development of an artistic critical approach.

YARAT offers:

• To share articles on local and international online publishing platforms
• Encouraging contact with current artistic discourse
• Cooperation with YARAT team
• To be involved in upcoming research projects of YARAT
• Professional copy editing and translation
• Access to YARAT’s academic resources

Requirements:

• Applicants with artistic and cultural background are preferred
• Examples from the previous articles
• CV
• Age preference: 20+
• Language skills: English is desirable
• Personal statement (max.250 words)

• Submission of the articles regarding required topics (max. 2 topics to be selected, 500 words):

1. Contemporary art in digital age
2. The notion of national identity in contemporary art
3. Avant Garde in Azerbaijan: development and current reflection
4. Local art scene in the years of 2005-2015
5. Collective memory and its reflection in art

• Language – Azerbaijani
• Current or future research topics (if available)
