LECTURE BY SEYMUR AGAYEV JOURNEY OF THE SOUL

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you to the lecture entitled “Journey of the Soul” that will be delivered by a philologist and historian Seymur Agayev. The lecture will explore the ideas and meanings behind the works of contemporary Georgian artists presented as part of an ongoing Equinox group exhibition.

We will discuss the general ideas behind the artworks, , and also trace their strong connection to the philosophy of Merab Mamardashvili and the phenomena that influenced him - the works of Marcel Proust and the teachings of philosophers such as Kant and Hegel.

Lecturer: Seymur Agayev – a graduate of Moscow State University, a certified philologist-linguist, Seymur found his calling in the study and teaching of history, literature and philosophy. His professional background includes 8 years of teaching, as well as participation in several educational projects in the field of humanities, such as the Art & Creativity Club and Cult Baku, including development of his own projects “Philosophy. The Art of Thinking” and “World History: An Unconventional View.”

The lecture will be delivered in Azerbaijani language.
