FILM CLUB: THAT DAY BY FIDAN JAFAROVA (AZERBAIJAN)

YARAT Contemporary Art Space is delighted to invite you to the screening of the That Day, a film directed by Fidan Jafarova in frame YARAT Film Club.

The film tells a story of a family who are living through a very special day. The house is clean and all members of the family are sporting their best attire for this occasion. Yet, silence surrounds them and something dark that happened to them. Would you continue to lie to someone you love if you knew that a lie is making them happy?

In 2012 Fidan Jafarova got accepted into the State University of Culture and Arts, after which she completed a Master’s course in Acting and Directing at “AXIN" Drama Studio affiliated to the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. In 2014, Fidan won the "Best Actress" award at the No Smoking Film Festival for her short film "Second Breathe". Later in 2014 she continued to practice her acting in the Azerbaijan State Dramatic Theater. Took part in a play titled "In a World of Stories" based on Mr Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran bestselling novel by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt of. In 2016, she successfully finished her studies at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.
