YARAT Contemporary Art Space is pleased to invite you to the screening of short films “Transumanato” and “XX-20” at ARTIM Project Space in the frames of YARAT Film Club.

“Transumanato” (2020)

The film consists of three dance routines that portray Dante's life in hell ("The Divine Comedy") as a visionary journey happening deep inside.

“XX-20” (2021)

The film is dedicated to the rethinking of the catastrophes of the 20th century – Hiroshima, Blockade, and Gulag – through an event that reveals itself in the face of an empty grave. Three disasters are associated with modern reality, carry genetic memory, and are combined in the numerical value of one century.

About the director

Elena Skripkina(b. 1988, Russia)  is a documentary filmmaker. She graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, then studied for a master's degree in theologian and religious philosophy in graduate school. She is a participant and winner of various Russian and international film festivals, as well as the creator of the video installation for the Franz Kafka Museum in Prague “Letters to Felicia” (2006). Her project “Invisible Father” is the winner of the International Grant Competition “Artkommunalka 2014”.
