CULTURAL REBOOT: ADDIS GADJIEV AND EKATERINA CHERKES-ZADE

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invite you to take part in the next meetings series within the framework of the “Cultural Reboot” project, which is implementing in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The aim of the project is to acquaint the audience with the creative work of talented Azerbaijanis living abroad. Our guests are cultural leaders for whom Azerbaijan is not just a mere dot on the map, but a source of inspiration. The project includes a multitude of events, ranging from mono-performances, lectures, talks book presentations, small concerts to acting and directing workshops.

Our next guest speaker is Addis Gadzhiev, Vice-President of the Guild of Film and Television Artists of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and curator of the Art Direction program of the Moscow Film School.Through this evening we will host the screening of “Idrak" (Insight) (dir. Addis Hajiyev) that won the prize of the mayor of Aydin at the “Efeler Invironment Days” film festival in Turkey in 2021.The screening will be followed by a discussion on the peculiarities of film production in Europe, Russia and Azerbaijan.

As part of the Cultural Reboot project, a panel discussion will be held on the theme of Developing Creative Industries through education.
Our guest speaker will be Ekaterina Cherkes-zade, an expert in the field of education, director of Universal University, which unites leading educational institutions in the field of creative industries: the British Higher School of Design, the Scream School of Computer Technology, the Moscow Film School, the Moscow School of Architecture MARCH, the Moscow School of Communications MACS, the Moscow School of Music and other projects. Everyone who cares about the future of Azerbaijani culture is welcome to join the discussion.
