FROM ALHAMBRA TO SHIRVANSHAH

This concert is a continuation of the collaborative project by Azerbaijani pianist Ulviya Abdullaeva and Spanish artist and sculptor Nani Boronat. It is also a part of a comprehensive anthropological and aesthetic research titled "CENTINELAS" (Guardians).
The project blends Spanish musical tradition with Azerbaijani, and its creators view the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Shirvanshahs' Palace in Baku as two ends of a cultural bridge that spans the entire region of various Mediterranean cultures.
The first concert, which took place in Munich (Haus des Deutschen Ostens) in May 2022, featured Boronat's picturesque sculpture and stage design combined with Ulviya Abdullaeva's musical program. The repertoire included works by both Spanish composers (Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados) and Azerbaijani composers (Gara Garayev, Ogtay Zulfugarov, and Gunay Mirzaeva).
On October 3, 2023, Ulviya Abdullaeva will give her second concert in Baku. In her hometown, the pianist will present a new repertoire that has been expanded and enriched through collaboration with new compositions.
