What do these people have in common? They all live in 2020, in Azerbaijan. They used to be active, regularly expressing their opinions on social media. But in October 2020 they live through the war, and they post nothing. They are silent.

Why are they silent?

“Dots” is an attempt to trace why and about what people were silent in October of 2020. In this performance piece, they talk about themselves, the Karabakh War of 2020, and their feelings inside. About how they are living through this very moment.

The play is based on the interviews of real people who have wished to remain anonymous.

Headphone verbatim is a documentary theater technique. While on stage, the actor listens to recorded material through headphones and then immediately recreates the voices of the characters. It is a way to directly contact documented reality.
