FREESTYLE: DANCEABILITY AZERBAIJAN – ART OF BEING TOGETHER CLOSING EVENT

10 Dec 19

“DanceAbility Azerbaijan” Inclusive Dance Company presents the closing event of “Art of Being Together”, a project that brings together professional and aspiring dancers with and without disabilities, on December 10 in the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries.

The project is brought to life with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, “Rapid Solutions” company, YARAT Contemporary Art Space and collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic.

A number of open classes on inclusive dance, movement and meditation based on DanceAbility® methods were held in a number of high schools, universities and the Museum of Azerbaijani Painting of the XX-XXI Centuries during the four-month project. Additionally, several participants were employed as a result of the “Increasing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities” trainings. Another successful outcome of the project was the creation of a theatrical dance group consisting of professional dancers and persons with disabilities.

Detailed information on the project activities and a video clip on the works completed within the project will be presented at the event. Additionally, “DanceAbility Azerbaijan” Inclusive Dance Company will present a performance by the choreographer Nigar Ibrahimbayli.
