YARAT FREESTYLE: SOUND MASTER CLASSES WITH DANIL ZHDANOV (RUSSIA)

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites you in the frame YARAT Freestyle program to participate in a master class on the creation of musical compositions together with the vocalist, electronic musician, and sound designer with 15-year experience Danil Zhdanov.

Danil Zhdanov – creative alias Slamer Lim. Gostreiter and sound developer of Spinnin' Records, Monolit Music, SOYUZ

Co-founder of the Production Center 1961 Studio (creative site of artists Kis-Kis, Brick Bazooka, Lena Rush, Alexander Zagorsky, Mayla, Zhulik, Marny). PR Director of the creative association PARAMIRA (St. Petersburg). Volunteer for the project MIDAIR | Midtempo (Saint Petersburg). He trained more than 100 artists and sound engineers at Ableton Live.

The topic of the master class:

“How to do techno, industrial and cyberpunk?”

• What is the historical basis of the sound of EDM: adherents of style and timbre Roland 303, 808, 909
• Where the origins of bassline and drum party (bit) of modern electronic music come from
• What are the audio effects that affect the swing and danceability of the track?
• How tension and waiting for a drop is created, how the drop takes place
• What notes and patterns tear the dance floor

At the end of the master class, you will have a chance to perform your composition in front of the audience.
